The Lawrence Humane Society wants to wish everyone happy pawlidays. Naturally, that includes your pets.
Pets — dogs, cats and other animal friends — and their people are welcome to get their photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus this Thursday and Saturday. The digital photos are $20 each, and they’ll be emailed to owners within a couple of days.

The event will be first come, first served, but the Humane Society is hoping to get in everyone who wants a photo — “after all, we know all the animals have been good this year and need to tell Santa all about it!” Elina Alterman, spokesperson for the organization, said via email.
“We’re also going to ask people to wait in their cars with their pets after signing in until it’s their turn so that we don’t have any animal altercations or unnecessary stress,” Alterman said.
Folks can fill out the form at this link to expedite the check-in and payment process if they wish.
Photo sessions are set for 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday (Dec. 1) and 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 3) at McCarthy Subaru, 2101 W. 29th Terrace in Lawrence.
In addition, the final kitten yoga event of the year is set for Saturday, Dec. 17 at Genesis South, 5200 Clinton Parkway.
“We’ll have holiday music going, a hot chocolate bar set up, and the kittens mayyyy even be wearing their holiday best!” Alterman hinted.
The 10:30 a.m. class has already sold out, but a few spots remained available for the 9 a.m. session as of Tuesday afternoon. Look for tickets at this link.
“And, of course, all of the proceeds from the pet pictures with Santa and holiday kitten yoga go to supporting Lawrence Humane and the 5,000 + animals we care for every year!” Alterman said.
